I cut this recipe out of a newspaper a long time ago...it is easy and very tasty...we love crockpot cooking
Ingredients:
3 strips bacon, cut into small pieces
1 1/2 tablespoons flour
2 (1 1/2 lb) cans sauerkraut
3 lbs polish sausage, cut in 1 1/2 inch pieces
2 small apples, cubed
1/2 cup beer
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds (optional)
Directions:
1. Fry bacon until crisp; drain.
2. Blend flour into bacon drippings.
3. Stir in sauerkraut.
4. Put sauerkraut mixture and bacon in slow electric cooker.
5. Add all other ingredients; stir together thoroughly.
6. Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours (or on high 3 to 4 hours).
