You know how you open a whole jar of sauerkraut to put a couple of tablespoons on a few dogs and then don’t know what to do with the rest? Well here’s the answer! And it tastes nothing like sauerkraut once the ingredients are combined and is very pretty and colourful! Read more ! Ingredients:
28 oz. sauerkraut (minus the few tablespoons you used for your dogs!) |
1 cup diced celery |
1 cup diced green pepper |
1/2 cup diced red pepper |
1/4 cup diced onion |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 tsp. celery seed |
3 tbsp. vinegar |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Drain sauerkraut. Rinse. Squeeze dry. Put into large bowl. Add rest of ingredients. Mix together well. Let stand covered in the fridge overnight before serving. |
