We had this candy at a sauerkraut festival in Waynesville Ohio..just had to buy the cookbook...great tasting..no will know it is sauerkraut in here Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups cocoa powder |
1 cup evaporated milk |
1 cup sauerkraut, drained, chopped |
12 ounces semisweet chocolate |
4 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
10 ounces miniature marshmallows |
Directions:
1. Boil sugar, cocoa and evaporated milk to soft boil stage.(234*). 2. Add chocolate chips and vanilla and stir till chips are melted. 3. Beat in marshmallows and kraut(KRAUT MUST BE WELL RINSED AND DRAINED.ALMOST DRY.). 4. Beat till thoroughly combined.and pour into buttered pans to set. 5. Cool and cut into squares. |
