32 oz sauerkraut |
1 1/2 lb hamburger |
1/4 c onion |
1/4 c rice |
1 tsp garlic powder |
1 tsp salt |
1 pepper |
1 egg |
2 tbl shortening |
2 tbl flour |
Directions:
1. Mix hamburger, chopped onion, rice, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and egg thoroughly. 2. Form .33 cup mixture into meatballs. 3. Place meatballs in roaster. 4. Cover with sauerkraut. 5. Using water, barely cover entire mixture with water. 6. Bake in oven at 350 F for two hours 7. Place flour and shortening in a pan and brown darkly. 8. After two hours, remove meatballs from roaster, add einbren (flour and shortening) mixture to thicken. 9. Return meatballs to roaster and serve |
