A speedy, inexpensive main course perfect for weekday dinners. Adjust the amount of taco seasoning to suit your taste. Serve them on Texas toast with a tossed salad. Ingredients:
1 cup breadcrumbs |
1 tablespoon taco seasoning mix |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
4 (4 ounce) beef cube steaks or 4 (4 ounce) pork cube steaks |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
3/4 cup bottled ranch dressing |
1 tablespoon taco seasoning mix |
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro |
Directions:
1. Steak: Combine bread crumbs and taco mix in a shallow dish. 2. Brush cube steaks with oil and press both sides of the steaks into the crumbs. 3. Heat remaining oil in a non-stick skillet, cook steaks over medium high heat, 3-4 minutes per side. 4. Sauce: While steaks are cooking, combine dressing and taco mix in a small sauce pan over medium heat, stirring until hot. 5. Add cilantro and spoon over steaks just before serving. |
