Saucy Penne and Three Cheese Bake |

This is one of those recipes you clip from the coupon pages of the newspaper. It sounds like a sort of lasagna casserole. Ingredients:
1 lb penne, cooked |
1/2 lb lean ground beef |
1 (26 ounce) jar classico spicy tomato and pesto pasta sauce |
15 ounces ricotta cheese |
8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese |
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1 egg |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350*F. 2. In saucepan, over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned; pour off fat. 3. Add pasta sauce. 4. In medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and egg. 5. In lightly greased 2-1/2 quart baking dish, layer half the penne, sauce mixture, and cheese mixture. 6. Repeat layers. 7. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over top. 8. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until hot and bubbly. |
