the mixture separates out during cooking to produce a creamy sponge topping and a delicious chocolate sauce on the bottom Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups milk |
2 3/4 ozs dark chocolate |
1/2 tsp vanilla essence |
1 cup superfine sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
1 1/4 cups self-rising flour |
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa |
confectioners sugar to dust |
for the sauce |
3tbs p unsweetened cocoa |
4tbsp light brown sugar |
1 1/4 cups boiling water |
Directions:
1. lightly grease a 3 3/4 - cup ovenproof dish 2. place milk in a small saucepan.Break chocolate into pieces and add to milk 3. heat gently ,stirring until the chocolate melts .Let cool slightly. Stir in the vanilla essence 4. beat together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. 5. sift flour and cocoa together 6. add to the sugar and butter mixture as well as the chocolate milk , beat until smooth 7. pour into prepared dish 8. to make the sauce, mix together the cocoa and sugar with a little of the boiling water to make a paste , add rest of water 9. pour sauce over the pudding without mixing it into the pudding 10. place dish on cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven350*F for 40 mins 11. or until springy to the touch 12. let stand for 5 mins dust with a little confectioners sugar 13. ENJOY ON A COLD DAY!!!!!!!!!!! 14. for a mocha sauce add 1 tsp instant coffee to sauce |
