This is a quick and easy scratch brownie that you can have in the oven within 10 minutes of deciding to make them. They are great as a base for brownie sundaes. Originally from Farm Journal Best Ever Recipes. Ingredients:
1 cup margarine |
4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate |
2 cups sugar |
1 cup flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
4 eggs |
1 cup walnuts; chopped |
Directions:
1. Melt margarine and chocolate together in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth. 2. Remove from heat. 3. Stir in sugar, flour, and baking powder; then vanilla. 4. Add eggs one at a time; then nuts. 5. Spread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. 6. Bake at 350ยบ for 30 minutes or until done. 7. Cool and dust with powdered sugar. 8. Cut into squares. 9. NOTES : This makes a moist, cake-like brownie. You can also sprinkle the top of the batter with chocolate chips before baking and omit the powdered sugar topping after they cool. |
