1/2 cup butter or margarine |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
2 cups whipping cream |
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese |
1/2 cup sherry |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon white pepper |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add cream; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Add cheese, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in remaining ingredients; cook over medium heat until thickened. |
