From Mom's notebooks Ingredients:
1 (3 lb) broiler-fryer chickens |
1/2 cup flour |
1/4 cup vegetable oil or 1/4 cup shortening |
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1 tablespoon honey |
1 (9 ounce) can crushed pineapple in syrup |
6 whole cloves |
Directions:
1. Cut fryer into serving pieces. Dredge in flour. 2. Brown slowly in hot oil or shortening, taking about 20 min to brown completely. Drain fat from pan and discard. 3. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl. Pour over chicken. Cover tightly and simmer 30-45 min or until tender. |
