Sarasota's Simple Tartar Sauce |

Perfect and easy. I just make this in a small food processor. But you can chop it all by hand if you want. This is so much better than any store bought and will keep for about 1 week in the refrigerator. Ingredients:
2/3 cup mayonnaise (no miracle whip) |
2 tablespoons sweet gherkins (you can also use sweet pickle relish or bread and butter chips, sometimes called hamburger chips. di) |
1 tablespoon fresh parsley |
1 tablespoon capers (drained) |
1 shallot, minced |
1/8 teaspoon garlic (basically, just a pinch) |
1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh) |
1 dash hot sauce (to taste) |
Directions:
1. Mix - Just add everything to a small food processor and pulse a few times to mix well. 2. If mixing by hand, just chop everything as fine as possible and mix together. Transfer to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap and then just let blend at least 30 minutes. Up to 2 hours if you can. 3. That's it! |
