I love this, unique but still easy. Some fresh ground black peppercorn (important), fresh herbs, olive oil and ground dried mushrooms makes this an amazing rub for steak. I love Delmonicos, Porterhouse or Rib Eye. This to me doesn't work as well with tougher cuts such as Flank, Skirt or London Broil.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 cup dried porcini mushrooms
2 tablespoons peppercorns
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh basil
1 teaspoon fresh sage
Directions:
1. Rub / Marinade - I like to grind mine in a mini food processor until well ground. Add the pepper grounds first and grind just 30 seconds, then add the mushrooms, herbs and garlic until everything is combined. It is a semi moist marinade.
2. Prepare - Rub the top and bottom of the steaks and set in a pan and cover with plastic wrap. Just set and wait to grill. Enjoy!
