This was my grandmother's recipe for jello. I thought it was the best and still do. Box said serves 8 (1/2-cup) servings. Ingredients:
1 large (6 oz.) box of lime jello |
1 can of pineapple, drained and save the juice |
note: back in grandmaw's day they only had sliced pineapple and then you had to cut it in chunks. my version is chunk or pineapple tidbits. |
1 cup boiling water |
cold water |
Directions:
1. Put jello in a large glass container. 2. Stir in 1 cup of boiling water until gelatin is completely dissolved. 3. Pour juice in 1 cup measuring cup and fill cup with cold water until you have 1 cup. 4. Pour this in the jello and stir until mixed. 5. Add pineapple and stir. 6. Put in refrigerator for 4 hours or longer. 7. Another note: If you want the pineapple all through you need to keep the jello stirred everyonce in a while until jello starts to set. Mine I just put it in refrigerator until it sets. |
