My own version of Italian meatballs. Has lots of garlic and a bit of zing. It came from my own experimenting, and everyone who has eaten them, loves them! Serves about 6 people. I usually serve it with spaghetti and tomato sauce, but feel free to use it in any meal! I honestly don't really measure any of the spices or anything for that matter- so feel free to adapt to your preferences. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 egg |
1/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats |
1/4 cup parmesan cheese |
1 tablespoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon prepared garlic in oil |
1 dash black pepper |
1 tablespoon parsley |
1 teaspoon italian seasoning |
1/8 teaspoon ground cumin |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients, one at a time. I usually mix it all together with my bare hands, with frequent washing, but you can used a mixing spoon, or put plastic sandwich bags on your hands. 3. Form meat into small to medium size balls about an inch and a half in diameter- or your preference. 4. Place meatballs on cookie sheets lined with tinfoil. 5. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until slightly browned. I usually check it after 35 minutes. |
