This is my original recipe I use for parties etc. Buy seedless watermelon ( they still will have some tiny soft seeds ). Use white wine, white sangria, or any fruit flavored white wine for the marinade along with a hint of cinnamon for an easy marinade. Read more . This is very refreshing and not overpowered by the wine. Serve in a nice bowl to bring out the pink of the watermelon.
Ingredients:
1 seedless watermelon, size depends on how much you want.
white sangria or white fruity sweet wine start with 1-2 cups for a medium size watermelon
cinnamon stick or powdered cinnamon to taste
Directions:
1. Cut water melon in half then each halve in half again
2. Use a sharp knife and remove the watermelon from the rind
3. Cut each section into edible size cubes
4. Place watermelon cubes in a bowl
5. You will have quite a lot of watermelon
6. Use what you want- I only used 1/2 of the total cubes and chilled the rest for plain watermelon for another use
7. Add and stir in wine ( 1-2 cups ) or as desired
8. Add a cinnamon stick or two ( or use 1 tsp ground cinnamon )
9. Let chill 1 hour prior to serving
10. Served well chilled
11. Garnish as desired.
