This is a very old recipe, taken from DMIL's recipes box. The recipe is so old that the paper is very yellowed. I hope you enjoy this simple but delicious refresher. Ingredients:
4 lemons |
2 oranges |
1/2 cup sugar |
7/8 quart burgundy wine |
lime slice (to garnish) |
ice |
Directions:
1. Strain juice from lemons and 1 orange. 2. Add sugar and mix well. 3. Place in large pitcher. 4. Cut peel from remaining orange in one continuous motion, leaving end attached to the fruit. 5. Drop into pitcher. 6. Add ice and wine and stir to blend. 7. Serve in goblets half-filled with crushed ice. 8. Garnish with lime slices or other fruit. |
