Ingredients:
3 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1 cup(s) butter or margarine softened
4 whole(s) eggs
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
2 2/3 cup(s) all-purpose flour
3/4 cup(s) baking cocoa
1 tablespoon(s) baking soda
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 1/3 cup(s) boiling water
1/2 cup(s) butter or margarine
3- 1 oz squares unsweetened chocolate
3- 1 oz squares semisweet chocolate
5 cup(s) confectioner's sugar
1 cup(s) sour cream
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, cream brown sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at
2. a time, beating well after each addition. Beat on high speed until
3. light and fluffy.
4. Blend in vanilla.
5. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add alternately with
6. sour cream to creamed mixture. Mix on low just until combined. Stir
7. in water until blended. Pour into three greased and floured 9-in.
8. round baking pans. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes.
9. Cool in pans 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
10. For frosting, in a medium saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over
11. low heat.
12. Cool several minutes. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, sour cream
13. and vanilla. Add chocolate mixture and beat until smooth. Frost
14. cooled cake.
