This is a recipe that I got from the Dallas Morning News a few months back. It is so decadent, creamy, chocolatey and popular. Incredible cake recipe sure to please all the chocolate lovers in your life.
Ingredients:
18-1/4 ounce box devils food cake mix plus ingredients needed to make cake
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
12 ounce can evaporated milk
1/2 cup regular milk
8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 eggs
11 ounce jar cajeta
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 then spray a tube pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Spray cooking spray on one side of a piece of foil large enough to cover pan and form tight seal.
3. Set aside then prepare chocolate cake batter according to package instructions and set aside.
4. Prepare flan by mixing in blender the canned milks, milk, cream cheese, vanilla and eggs.
5. Soften cajeta in its jar in microwave then pour into tube pan and tip pan so it runs around sides.
6. Add cake batter then flan mixture then use prepared foil to seal pan tightly.
7. Carefully place pan inside a larger baking pan in the oven.
8. Pour hot water in the larger pan to a depth of 2 inches surrounding the pan then bake 2 hours.
9. Do not uncover during baking time then after baking time is up remove pan from water.
10. Allow to cool 15 minutes then remove foil seal and invert cake onto a platter with a good rim.
11. Cake will migrate to bottom and the flan will end up on the top and cajeta will drip down sides.
