A treat from India Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cooking oil |
1 medium chopped onion |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon curry powder |
1 lb ground beef |
3/4 cup cooked peas |
egg roll wrap |
fat (for deep frying) |
Directions:
1. Put oil and onion into fry pan. Fry until browned. Add ginger, garlic powder, and curry powder. Cook and stir about 2 minutes. Add ground beef and scramble-fry. Stir in peas. Allow to cool. 2. Cut egg roll wrappers diagonally into 4 triangles. Put about 1 tbsp, or less of mixture in center. Moisten edges with water. fold over and press to seal. Fry in 375°F fat until golden brown, turning once. To reheat place on baking sheet in 350°F oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until hot. Makes about 5 dozen. 3. Note: wonton shins can be used. The are a bit thinner. 4. Note: May be baked in 450°F oven for about 10 minutes. They don't get bubbly-brown in the oven as when deep fried. |
