I remember making these for Home Economics class. I don't even think high school's have Home Econ. anymore. They are fun though. Ingredients:
4 ounces saltine crackers |
1 cup butter |
1 cup dark brown sugar |
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
3/4 cup chopped pecans, optional |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°. 2. Line a cookie sheet with a single layer of saltine crackers. 3. In a saucepan, combine sugar and butter. 4. Bring to a boil and boil for about 3 minutes. 5. Remove from heat and pour over saltine crackers. 6. Spread so it's even on the crackers. 7. Bake 5-6 minutes. 8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the chocolate chips. 9. Let sit for 5 minutes. 10. Spread the melted chips on the crackers and top with chopped pecans. 11. Cool completely and break into pieces to serve. |
