One of the easiest recipes I've come across. Fun to make. Betty Crocker's Best Of Baking. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar |
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened |
1/2 cup shortening |
2 eggs |
2 tsp. vanilla |
3 cups all-purpose flour (if using self-rising flour, omit baking soda and salt) |
2 cups salted peanuts |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1/2 tsp. baking soda |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Mix brown sugar, margarine or butter, shortening, eggs and vanilla. 3. Stir in remaining ingredients. 4. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. 5. Flatten with greased bottom of glass dipped in sugar. 6. Bake until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. 7. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. |
