Salted Maple Caramel Sauce |

OMG...vanilla ice cream may never be the same! From Bon Appetit. Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsalted butter |
1/2 cup maple sugar |
3/4 cup whipping cream |
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt |
5 drops imitation maple extract |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar. Whisk until sugar melts and mixture is thick and boiling, 2-3 minutes. Gradually whick in cream. 2. Bring sauce to boil, whisking often. Boil until sauce thickens enough to coat spoon and is reduced to one cup, whisking ofter, 2-3 minutes. 3. Remove from heat. Whisk in salt and extract. 4. Cool. Store covered in frig. |
