This is my 'copycat' version of a bag salad mix I occasionally buy, Fresh Express Salsa Ensalada Supreme Salad Kit. However, it's really expensive ($5.00) and only serves 2-3 people. I thought I could try to do it at home for less, so I experimented, and success! Read more ! This tastes identical to the salad kit - my hubby couldn't even tell the difference. Ingredients:
6 c. salad greens, cut yourself or from a bag mix (a romaine/iceberg blend is good) |
1/2 c. lightly crushed tortilla chips |
1/4 c. shredded cheddar or mexican/taco blend cheese |
1 1/2 tbsp prepared ranch salad dressing |
1 1/2 tbsp sour cream |
3 tbsp. chunky salsa, medium heat (we like tostitos) |
Directions:
1. Place salad greens, tortilla chips, and cheese into 1-gallon Ziploc bag. 2. In a small bowl, whisk together Ranch dressing, sour cream, and salsa. Pour over salad greens. 3. Zip bag shut and shake to coat greens evenly with dressing mixture. Serve. |
