This is a salsa recipe I have developed over the years which started when I was living in Southern California. Awesome with chips or with any kind of Mexican food.
Ingredients:
1 large can whole peeled tomatoes (fresh ripe tomatoes if you have them)
4 cloves garlic finely chopped
3/4 cup chopped red onion
chopped cilantro to taste (i like a lot)
roasted jalapenos or out of jar to taste (peppers must be added according to the heat of the pepper)
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
1. Put the canned tomatoes in a food processor and pulse so as not to grind them too much. The salsa should be somewhat chunky. 2. add all of the ingredients and mix well. 3. Serve with chips or on your beans and rice or in tacos burritos etc.
