I have had this dish in my recipe card file for about 30 years. Of course it's all stained and food spattered! It's another comfort-meat-and-potatoes-type dish that husbands really like served with mashed potatoes! Read more !
Ingredients:
1 2/3 cup crushed saltine crackers
2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup catsup (or ketchup)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons chopped onion
2 teaspoons fresh chopped parsley
1 teaspoon (or more) worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon marjoram
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 can mushroom soup
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon (or more) dry sherry
pinch of garlic salt
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (or fresh ones if you prefer)
1 tablespoon (or more) chopped pimiento. (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Combine first 11 ingredients and make into patties.
3. Place patties in shallow casserole dish.
4. Heat next 5 ingredients in saucepan and pour over patties.
5. Bake for 45 minutes.
6. During the last 10 minutes add last 2 ingredients.
7. Serves 8
