Ingredients:
cooking spray |
1 cup vertically sliced onion |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
2 cups 1% low-fat milk |
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded swiss cheese |
1/2 teaspoon dried rubbed sage |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
2 (15-ounce) cans diced rutabagas, drained |
1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°. 2. Place a nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium heat until hot. Add onion; sauté 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk; cook 10 minutes or until slightly thick, stirring constantly with a whisk. Remove from heat; add cheese, sage, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in rutabagas. 3. Spoon into a 1 1/2-quart shallow baking dish coated with cooking spray; sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until golden. Let stand 5 minutes. |
