A great bar for nut lovers. Ingredients:
1 tbls. plus 1 1/2 sticks cold butter, divided |
2 1/3 cups flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1 egg, lightly beaten |
2/3 cup honey |
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed |
1/4 tsp. salt |
6 tbls. butter |
2 tbls. whipping cream |
1 cup chopped hazelnuts, chopped and toasted |
1 cup roasted almonds, chopped |
1 cup cashews, toasted and chopped |
1 cup pistachios, toasted and chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 2. Line 13z9 pan with foil and grease with 1 tbls. butter 3. In mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and combine 4. Add remaining butter and mix until resembles coarse crumbs 5. Stir in egg until blended 6. Press firmly into pan 7. Bake 18-20 minutes or until edges are golden brown 8. Cool completely 9. In saucepan over medium heat, bring the honey, brown sugar and salt to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved 10. Boil without stirring for 2 minutes 11. Add butter and cream 12. Bring to boil, cook and stir constantly for another minute 13. Remove from heat and stir in all the nut ingredients 14. Spread over crust 15. Bake 15-20 minutes or until topping is bubbly 16. Cool completely |
