i found another dish that improves with booze:-) serve either with lots of whipped cream or warm with vanilla icecream or straight :-) Ingredients:
200 g flour |
1 egg yolk |
75 g sugar |
125 g butter |
pinch of salt |
40 g raisins |
4 tablespoons light rum |
1 lemon |
1,2 kg apples, more of the sour kind |
60 g butter |
1 tbsp cinamon |
2-3 tbsp sugar |
Directions:
1. quickly knead dough with flour, egg yolk, sugar, butter and a pinch of salt 2. make ball, cover with saran wrap, put in fridge for about 30 min. 3. preheat oven to 200° CENTIGRADE 4. pour boiling water on raisins, until they lose their wrinkles 5. (wish it was that easy with mine :-) 6. pour off water, dump rum onto raisins 7. peel, core and quarter apples, 8. press juice out of lemon, sprinkle onto apple slices 9. use baking paper for bottom part of 10. 26 cm cake 'springform' 11. take about 2/3 of dough, rolling it between sheets of plastic wrap, 12. put onto bottom of form 13. use fork to make lots of little holes (it is easy to make, but so difficult to describe) 14. put into oven for 10 minutes 15. now shape a 'sausage' out of the rest of the dough, 16. press against sides of baking form. 17. place apples on pre-baked dough, 18. sprinkle raisons on appples 19. melt sugar, butter and cinamon, 20. brush apples with mixture 21. bake for approx. 50 minutes. 22. remove from baking pan to let cool. 23. you do not have to use the baking paper - but it makes it easier to remove cake from pan. 24. remove form from |
