A spicy rub for barbecued meats. Also used in BBQ Red Beans. This actually makes quite a bit. If you just want to try it first (or if you just want enough to make BBQ Red Beans, resize to 0.5 cups and reduce cooking time accordingly). Ingredients:
1/4 cup ground black pepper |
1/8 cup white pepper |
1/2 cup kosher salt |
6 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper |
1/4 cup paprika |
1/8 cup garlic powder |
1/4 cup thyme |
1/4 cup chili powder |
Directions:
1. In non-stick fry pan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. 2. Cook, stirring constantly, until color deepens and ingredients are hot, about 2-5 minutes. |
