                    I found this recipe subsitution in a magazine. This is a single-acting (tartrate) powder. I haven't tried this recipe but thought that I'd post it before I lost it. :-) Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                2 tablespoons cream of tartar  |  
                                                1 tablespoon baking soda  |  
                                                1 tablespoon cornstarch  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Mix three ingredients together thoroughly. 2. Use 1 teaspoon of this mixture for each teaspoon of Royal or single-acting baking powder called for in a recipe. 3. Do NOT use this mixture in recipes calling for double-acting baking powder. 4.
