When I am in a German mood, this is what I make. I call it one of my comfort foods. Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds boneless round steak |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
2 cups water |
1/4 cup onion, minced |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 envelope brown gravy mix |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
hot cooked buttered noodles |
Directions:
1. Cut round steak into 1 inch cubes or into thin strips. 2. In large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium-high heat. 3. Remove meat from skillet and set aside. 4. In same skillet, add remaining ingredients except noodles. 5. Heat, stirring, until smooth. 6. Return meat to skillet. 7. SImmer 1 1/2 hours. 8. Serve over buttered noodles. |
