Rosewater and Vanilla Granita |

A delicate rose flavoured granita. I use home made vanilla sugar in this recipe. You can add more sugar if you prefer a very sweet granita. You can also add a drop or two of pink food colouring for visual effect. This granita is excellent on its own or served with fruit. Ingredients:
4 cups water |
4 tablespoons vanilla sugar |
1 tablespoon rose water |
Directions:
1. Gently heat the water on the stove. Add vanilla sugar and rosewater and stir until it dissolves. Place in a shallow dish in the freezer for 30-45 minutes. Remove and break up the ice crystals with a fork. Repeat 2 or 3 times until the granita is fully frozen into small crystals. |
