This recipe is from a cookbook put out by the Women's Club of Oxford, NC in 1949. It originated with Mrs. B. K. Lassiter. Use Miracle Whip for the salad dressing. Ingredients:
1/2 lb roquefort cheese |
1/2 cup salad dressing |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon tabasco sauce |
1 pint cottage cheese |
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped stiffly |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon gelatin powder |
1/4 cup cold water |
Directions:
1. Mash the Roquefort cheese and mix well with the cottage cheese. Season with the salt to taste. Add the Tabasco sauce and the Worcestershire sauce and mix well. Add the dressing and the whipped cream. Dissolve the gelatin in the cold water and add to the mixture. Place the mixture in a mold and set in the refrigerator for a few hours until stiff. |
