Lura suggests substituting Colby Jack cheese for the Sharp cheese, two tsp of dry mustard instead of one might be in order. Ingredients:
8 oz of macaroni |
1tsp butter |
1 egg beaten |
3 cups grated sharp cheese |
1 cup milk |
1 tsp each dry mustard and salt |
1tbs hot water |
Directions:
1. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees 2. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain well 3. Reserve a small amount of the cheese 4. Add butter, beaten egg, and remaining cheese, mix well and pour into buttered casserole. 5. Mix dry mustard and salt and 1TBS hot water in small bowl. Stir in milk. 6. Pour over casserole. 7. Sprinkle with remaining cheese 8. Bake for 45 minutes or until set and top is crusty. |
