A fast and easy sweet treat. You mix the crust right in the pan. The rest of the ingredients you just layer over - no bowl to clean! Ingredients:
3 semi-sweet chocolate baking squares |
1/2 cup shortening (i use crisco) |
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs |
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans are good) |
1/2 cup flaked coconut |
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows |
1 cup flaked coconut |
1 cup whole pecans |
1 (300 ml) can sweetened condensed milk |
3 semi-sweet chocolate baking squares |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350*. 2. CRUST - Place chocolate and shortening in a 9 x 13 pan and melt in the oven. 3. Remove from oven and add crumbs, nuts and coconut, mixing well. Press firmly into bottom of pan. 4. TOPPING - Layer marshmallows, coconut and nuts over the crust. 5. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the top. 6. Bake 350* for 25-30 minutes (until golden). 7. Remove from oven and cool. 8. Melt remaining 3 squares of chocolate over hot water. 9. Drizzle over cooled bar. 10. Chill to set chocolate , then cut into bars. |
