My sweetie and I found a store bought dipping oil that was great. We both like spicy oil and this was perfect. Well you might know, the stores stopped carrying it, so I decided to experiment and finally came up with this oil and we think it's better than the store bought oil. Hope you do too. Ingredients:
1/2 cup carapelli premium extra virgin olive oil |
1 -2 arbol chile, dried (usually in produce dept.) |
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) |
1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed |
1 teaspoon fresh garlic, chopped (i like roasted garlic from a jar also) |
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a microwavable container and heat until hot but not boiling. (Can do on stovetop in saucepan). 2. Let cool completely. Place in jar or bottle with tight fitting lid and let stand in refrigerator for 24 hours. When ready to use, shake or stir to incorporate ingredients. Place in microwavable container and warm slightly. Great with fresh french bread or your favorite bread. Cooking time includes time in refrigerator. |
