This salad is to die for. Both my kids and my Golden lab love it. A healthy choice that will make you forget about the main course. Enjoy. Ingredients:

ingredients |
1-tablespoon butter |
3/4 cup almonds slivered |
1-pound spinach, arugula or mixture of any greens rinsed and torn into bite-size pieces |
1 cup dried cranberries, raisins, strawberries, tangerine slices or mixture of all |
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds |
1-tablespoon poppy seeds |
1/3 cup white sugar |
1 small onion sliced |
2 teaspoons minced onion |
1/4 teaspoon paprika |
1/4 cup white wine vinegar |
1/4 cup cider vinegar |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
1-cup feta cheese |
Directions:
1. Directions 2. 1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Cook and stir almonds in butter until lightly toasted. Remove from heat, and let cool. 3. 2. In a large bowl, combine the greens and sliced onion with the toasted almonds, feta cheese and fruit. 4. 3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the toasted sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sugar, minced onion, paprika, white wine vinegar, cider vinegar, and vegetable oil. Toss with greens just before serving. |
