Adapted from a recipe by LotusFlower1971 . Ingredients:
2 vidalia onions (walla walla, maui sweet, etc) or 2 sweet onions (walla walla, maui sweet, etc) |
2 beef bouillon cubes |
2 garlic cloves, crushed |
2 tablespoons butter |
2 dashes fresh ground black pepper |
2 dashes ground paprika |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. 2. Cut a thin slice off the root end of each onion so it stands flat. Put two perpendicular cuts into each onion (as though you were going to cut it into quarters), but only cut 3/4 of the way down, leaving the root end intact. Place each onion on a piece of aluminum foil big enough to wrap it completely. 3. Place a bouillon cube into each onion. Top each with one clove of garlic (about 1/2 tsp) and butter. Sprinkle with pepper and paprika, then wrap foil tightly. 4. Roast in preheated oven 30-40 minutes. |
