A great dip for the mushroom lover in your life Ingredients:
1 1/2 tbls. olive oil |
1lb. portobello mushrooms, cleaned and chopped |
1 1/2 cups onions, chopped (i use vidalia but any white onion will do) |
2-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped |
2 8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese, room temperature |
1/2 tsp onion powder |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 2. Put mushrooms on baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes 3. In skillet, add onions and garlic and saute until tender 4. Let mushrooms and onion mixture cool 5. Puree mushrooms, onions, and garlic in food processor until almost smooth 6. In mixing bowl add cream cheese, onion powder and blended veggies 7. Salt and pepper to taste 8. Serve with pita chips, crackers, or veggies |
