These are SO good, I could make a meal out of these!!! VERY easy to make! I roasted these in a seperate casserole dish at the same time as some pork butt steak. Ingredients:
1 -2 lb fresh green beans |
2 tablespoons shallots, finely chopped (or onion) |
1 -2 tablespoon olive oil |
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (to taste) |
1/2 teaspoon good seasons italian dry salad dressing mix |
3 -4 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled |
1/2 cup chicken broth, strong |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon to desired crispness - when done, place between 2 sheets paper towel to cool & absorb away any fat. 2. Dissolve 1 chicken boullion cube in 1/2 cup boiling water & set aside to cool. 3. Snap ends off green beans - leave whole or snap to desired length. 4. Rinse well & drain. 5. Finely chop shallot (or onion) 6. Preheat oven to 325°. 7. Place green beans & chopped shallot (onion) in a casserole dish. 8. Sprinkle with the olive oil & toss to coat. 9. Sprinkle with the kosher salt & italian seasoning & toss again. 10. Crumble the bacon & place in casserole with the green beans & shallots. 11. Toss again. 12. Carefully pour in the chicken broth as not to wash away any of the seasoning from the green bean mixture. 13. Cover & roast in oven for 1-11/2 hours. |
