After growing up with boiled/steamed, mushy brussel sprouts and HATING them, I decided there must be a way to prepare them that I would enjoy. Ingredients:
1 lb brussel sprouts |
1 head garlic |
4 tbs olive oil |
sea salt |
coarse black pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees (F). 2. Clean brussel sprouts, removing outside leaves and trimming the stems. 3. Cut sprouts in half, lengthwise. 4. Break apart garlic head - do not peel, just remove loose peel. 5. Put brussel sprouts and garlic into plastic bag; add olive oil, salt and pepper. 6. Close bag and shake to coat sprouts and garlic cloves with oil. 7. Pour out into roasting pan. 8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, turning veggies once or twice, until sprouts are browned and garlic is soft. 9. To serve, squeeze garlic from peel and toss with sprouts. |
