Ingredients:
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons fat from roast of beef |
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
pan drippings from roast of beef |
water |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Combine fat and flour in a heavy skillet; stir until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until browned. 2. Combine pan drippings and water to equal 3 cups. Gradually add pan drippings mixture to skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper. Serve hot with roast beef. |
