After making crab and cream cheese won tons, I wondered what else would go great with cream cheese and fried up in a won ton wrapper. I absolutely love cream cheese and chocolate chips, so why not? These are quick, easy, and a great 'different' kind of dessert. Read more . I usually buy the won ton wrappers that are on sale, so I don't know many this actually makes, because packages vary from 10-12 ounces. I'd say 3 won tons per serving, but these are soooo addicting, you might just want them all to yourself!
Ingredients:
8-oz. cream cheese, softened
3 t. granulated sugar
3/4 c. chocolate chips (any kind will do, but miniature ones work really well)
won ton pi (wrappers)
water
powdered sugar, optional
unsweetened cocoa powder, optional
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
2. Stir in chocolate chips.
3. Place about 1 Tablespoon of the mixture in the center of each won ton wrapper.
4. Wet edges of wrapper with water and seal tightly, making sure you get out as much air as possible. (Make sure you seal these VERY tight, or the filling may seep out while frying!)
5. Fry in very hot oil until golden brown, about 1 minute on each side.
6. Drain in paper towel-lined bowl.
7. Dust with powdered sugar and cocoa, if desired.
8. Serve hot and enjoy!
