From Better Homes and Gardens' Meals with a Foreign Flair . Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 egg |
1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour |
Directions:
1. Stir butter to soften; blend in sugar and salt. Add egg; mix well. Stir in sifted flour. 2. Chill slightly. 3. On floured surface, roll out in 12-inch circle. Using rolling pin to transfer dough, carefully place over outside of 9-inch round cake pan. (Shape dough to sides of pan almost to rim. Be sure there are no thin places, especially at corner.) Trim. 4. Place pan, crust up, on cooky sheet. Bake at 450° for 8 to 10 minutes or till lightly browned. Cool few minutes; while slightly warm, transfer crust to plate. 5. Use for French Strawberry Tart or with your favorite tart filling. |
