This is a delicatably delicous,scrumptious and has everything in it that I personally love...its so good! Ingredients:
macaroon base |
100g ground almonds |
175g cater sugar |
1 tsp flour |
2 egg whites |
2 drops vanilla essence |

350g plain chocolate |
50g hazelnuts |
50g blanched almonds |
75g unsalted butter |
2 tbsp brandy or rum |
50g walnut peices |
225ml double cream |
glaze |
100g plain chocolate |
25g unsalted butter |
2 tbsp milk |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 180.c, and prepare the base by mixing together the almonds,sugar,flour,egg whites and essence. 2. Line the base of a 22cm tin with cooking paper, spoon mixture in and spread out base.Bake for 25mins until rich and golden in colour...leave to cool. 3. Topping: melt the chocolate with 125mls water,then cool.....toast the hazelnuts and almonds, chop roughly, and cream butter....then beat in melted chocolate,nuts and brandy. 4. Whip 215mls of the cream until it begins to thicken...fold into the chocolate mixture and pour onto the base, smooth over, cover and chill until firm. 5. Glaze: 6. melt together butter,chocolate,and milk...cool.pour over torte in tin. 7. spoon little blobs of cream at regular intervals around edge, and then using the tip of a fine skewer,swirl in the cream...chill to allow glaze to set....then run a knife around the tin and remove! |
