Rich Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars |

From All Time Favorite Recipes . Ingredients:
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour |
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar |
3/4 cup butter |
1 egg, slighly beaten |
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided |
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts |
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk |
1 3/4 cups english toffee bits, divided |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Grease 13x9x2 inch baking pan. 3. Stir together flour and brown sugar in large bowl. 4. Cut in butter with pastry blender or mixer until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 5. Add egg; mix well. 6. Stir in 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips and nuts. 7. Reserve 1-1/2 cups of entire mixture; press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom of prepared pan. 8. Bake 10 minutes. 9. Pour sweetwened condensed milk evenly over hot crust. 10. Top with 1-1/2 cups toffee bits. 11. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture and remaining 1/2 cup chips over top. 12. Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden borwn. 13. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup toffee bits. 14. Cool completely in pan on wire rack before cutting into bars. |
