My husband asked me to make rice pilaf without the rice. This is just as easy as what you'd buy in a box with perfect flavor, no fillers, and no preservatives. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 1/2 cups orzo pasta |
1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth (or boullion and water equivalent) |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon parsley flakes |
Directions:
1. Combine oil and orzo in small saucepan. 2. Stir frequently over medium-high heat until pasta is browned. 3. Add liquid and seasonings. 4. Bring back to a boil. 5. Reduce heat to low. 6. Simmer 5-10 minutes (uncovered) until just slightly saucy. |
