RICE VIDALIA ONION DELUXE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Wrangler Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1989. Ingredients:
3 pounds vidalia onions thinly sliced |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup uncooked rice |
2 cups water |
1-1/2 cups swiss cheese shredded |
1-1/2 cups half and half |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325. 2. Sauté onions in butter in large skillet for 10 minutes. 3. Boil rice in water for 5 minutes then drain well. 4. Place onions, rice, cheese and half and half in greased dish and bake uncovered 1 hour. 5. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking. |
