Khao tam is a soup, that is always considered a meal in itself that most of the time we serve it in the morning (never served with other foods). This dish can be made with any kind of white meat, such as chicken, pork, or shimp. Read more ..
Ingredients:
this dish can be cook with chicken, pork or shimp..use white meat it best for this soup.
2 cups of uncook rice
2 chicken breast chopped, chicken wings can be use cut into cubes
2 cups of uncook rice
2 tb nam pla (fish sauce)
5 tb kratiem (garlic), crushed save some for garnish
1/2 ts prikthai (white pepper)
1/2 cup of chopped cilantro leave
1/2 cup of green onion
2 teaspoon of oil
1/4 cup of ginger thinly sliced
2 eggs per serving (optional)
Directions:
1. In a sauce pan, add oil and garlic, cook until golden brown and set aside. (leave some for ganish)
2. In a saucepan, boil the water and rice ( washed rice for couple of time to in a clear water to lighted up the starch in rice). Bring to boil, make sure you stir so rice don't stick to pan, cook until rice is tender.
3. While cooking rice, in another pan, add remaining garlic, ginger and chicken.
4. When chicken are cooked, pour chicken into a boiling rice. Cook it for about 5 minutes in a medium heat when ready add cilanto and green onion top with fried garlic and it ready to serve....
5. if use egg, craked and pour egg into the boiling rice for about 2-3 minutes and scoup it out and pour in a bowl along with your rice soup. ....Hope you enjoy this morning recipe...
