This started out from the joy of cooking. Over time, this is the end result. I use this whenever I need rice. The secret is exact measurments for water and rice. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter |
1/4 cup chopped onion |
1/4 green pepper, chopped |
1 cup long grain rice |
2 cups water |
2 chicken bouillon cubes |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a 2 qt. saucepan over high heat. 2. Saute' onion and green pepper until tender crisp. 3. Add rice; cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring frequently. 4. Add water and chicken bouillon; bring to a boil. 5. Stir once. 6. Reduce heat to low. 7. Stir once. 8. Cover and cook for 15 minutes. 9. Don't look! 10. Remove from heat and uncover. 11. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. 12. Serve hot. |
